WE ALWAYS FOLLOWED HIS EXAMPLE, MURAD ADYGEZALZADEH

Baku, 28 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall, where People’s Artist of USSR, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan Muslim Magomayev used to be greeted with stormy applause for his fantastic voice, is being prepared for the final meeting with him.

A day before a farewell ceremony for the outstanding singer, AzerTAc reporter has
talked at this temple of music to its Director, Honored Artist Murad Adygezalzadeh.
“Azerbaijan as well as the whole musical community has lost a historical person. It
is happiness when a nation, be it a small or a big one, has such a son” Director of
the State Philharmonic Hall said.
“I first met Muslim Magomayev when Mstislav Rostropovich was in Baku after a long
absence. They were together, and we met at the Baku Musical Academy. Muslim told us
about his study at the Bulbul Musical School, which then occupied this building…
…After that, we used to meet at the Azerbaijan Embassy in Moscow. Every 10th of May,
the embassy organized events to mark nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev’s birthday and
the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Muslim and I took very active part in those
events.”
With particular warmth, Murad Adygezalzadeh remembers Muslim Magomayev’s friendship
with his father Zohrab Adygezalzadeh. “After I was appointed Director of the
Philharmonic Hall, he told my father he was glad of this choice. I am glad, he said,
that such a young and talented person now has the chance to continue his activities
in a temple of music.
We were always proud of Muslim Magomayev trying to follow his example. And we are no
exception - the Russian pop star Alla Pugacheva calls Muslim Magomayev her idol.
“Every time I look at him, I ask myself the question – is it possible to be such a
genius, and will I become like him some day?” she used to say.
“One cannon but feel a great sense of pride in their fellow countryman, when people
pour out so much love and respect to him,” said Murad Adygezalzadeh.
