PAKISTANI PRESS HIGHLIGHTS AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

Baku, 28 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Pakistan`s press highlighted presidential elections held in Azerbaijan on October 15.

The Daily Ittehad described the poll as free and transparent, saying they met
international standards.
The newspaper focused on reports and assessments by several observers, in particular
Mikhail Krotov, Secretary General of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, who was
quoted as saying that “Azerbaijan can give democracy lesson for other countries.”
The Daily Ittehad also widely highlighted President Ilham Aliyev`s activity during
his first term as Azerbaijan`s President.
President Ilham Aliyev`s victory in the presidential poll was described by the
newspaper as demonstration of the people`s confidence in him.
Another leading online newspaper Pakistan Observer has also widely highlighted
Azerbaijan`s election process.
