CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the regular cabinet meeting on Saturday, a head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government Ch.Saikhanbileg gave a report on an implementation course of the national programme on launching a satellite. It was adopted by the #137 governmental resolution in 2012.
Related officials were told to reflect in the national programme "on space communication and launching a reconnaissance and research satellite" a package of issues regarding productions, launching, land infrastructure, insurance and training, to hold talks with a developed country that has experience in undertaking same projects, to solve financial matters of the programme, to report to the National Security Council (NSC) on the programme's results in the first quarter this year.
- The cabinet amended an appendix of the #98 governmental resolution of 2012 on approval of a composition of the Renewable Energy Fund's (REF) council. Accordingly, the REF council will be chaired by the Ministry of Energy, its composition will comprise the State Secretaries of four Ministries and representatives of state budgetary and civil society organizations.
- The Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold will take part in the 49th Munich Security Conference February 1-3 in Munich, Germany. All the directives, to be maintained by the Mongolian delegation at the conference, will be approved by the PM.
- The cabinet discussed a draft to the parliamentary resolution on approving a list of the products forbidden from entering Mongolia's territory and to be in other non-tariff restrictions.
- The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) expanded its range to southern and southeastern countries of the Mediterranean Sea by a decision made September last year. In conjunction with this, the EBRD amended its agreement on establishment, so members nations shall ratify the amendment. The cabinet discussed and backed the issue, and decided to submit it to parliament.
The EBRD was established in 1991 to help build a new, post-Cold War era in Central and Eastern Europe. It has since played a historic role and gained unique expertise in fostering change in the region - and beyond. Mongolia became the 61st member of the EBRD after the State Great Khural ratified the EBRD establishment treaty in 2000.
