MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN WFES 2013

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A member of the State Great Khural and the Minister of Energy M.Sonompil took part in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) held on January 15-17 in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Minister has been invited by Mr Adnan Z. Amin, the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency /IRENA/ and Dr Rashid Ahmad bin Fahad, the UAE Minister of Environment and Water. The Mongolia's delegation led by M.Sonompil has discussed a report on activities done last years and works to be implemented by the IRENA, giving a vote to it representing Mongolia. Then he has exchanged experience on realization of national program on renewable energy at round table ministerial meetings entitled "Renewable financial model leading to development" and "Price and benefits of renewable energy". Within the meeting, the Minister has held a meeting with Mr Adnan Z. Amin, introducing to him a present situation of the renewable energy sector in Mongolia, and discussed issues on a developmental tendency in the world for the sector. Then, M.Sonompil signed a document on working out a World map on renewable energy which has been initiated by the IRENA. The WFES is the world's foremost annual event, dedicated to advancing future energy, energy efficiency and clean technologies. The Summit attracts world leaders, international policy makers, industry leaders, investors, experts, academia, intellectuals and journalists to discuss practical and sustainable solutions to future energy challenges. The World Future Energy Summit (WFES) 2013 will bring together global leaders in policy, technology and business to discuss the state of the art, develop new ways of thinking and shape the future of renewable energy.
