Algerian President, PM visit KSA pavilion at Int'l Book Fair
Algiers, October 28, SPA -- Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika,
accompanied by Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and a number of senior
Algerian officials visited Saudi pavilion at the 13th International
book fair now on show in Algerian capital.
On arrival at the venue of the Pavilion, Bouteflika was received by
Saudi Ambassador to Algeria Dr. Sami Abdullah Al-Salih who expressed
his admiration over
the presidential visit which reiterated the Algerian President's keen
interest to see the Saudi achievement in publishing, printing and
translating books.
The Ambassador presented a special cover copy of the glorious Quran
to the President and other copies of the holy book were also handed
over to visitors of the Fair, on the occasion of the President's
visit.
The Algerian President lauded the Saudi Arabia's achievement
especially its efforts in serving the glorious Quran through printing
and translating its divine meanings in a large number of languages
including the Tamazight.
In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Ambassador Al- Salih said that
the brotherly ties that bond together the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz and the Algerian President
have always been 'helping and integrating' factors to enhance and the
level of the existing cooperation between the two countries specially
the cultural ties.
"The strong and distinctive presence of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
in this international cultural event, confirms the keenness of the
government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, to encourage all
initiatives for inter-Arab relations, and strengthen further the
commitment to the directives of the custodian of the Holy Mosques and
implementation of the existing programs of cooperation between the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Algeria, he added.
He praised the quality of the exhibited books especially
publications of King Fahd Complex for printing the Holy Quran in
addition to scientific publications from various Saudi universities
and other books translated by Saudi competent authorities in
different scientific disciplines.
