BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia reported Monday that a money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of December 2012 reached MNT 7,617.2 billion, increase by MNT 584.0 billion or 8.3 per cent against the previous month and by MNT 1,204.9 billion or 18.8 per cent against 2011. At the end of December 2012, a currency issued in circulation reached MNT 828.5 billion. This is an MNT 106.4 billion or 14.7 percent increase against the previous month and MNT 115.1 billion or 16.1 percent against 2011. Loans outstanding at the end of December 2012 amounted to MNT 6,990.5 billion, increasing by MNT 122.7 billion or 1.8 per cent against the previous month and by MNT 1,349.3 billion or 23.9 per cent against 2011. Principals in arrears reached MNT 110.6 billion, decreasing MNT 37.1 billion or 25.1 per cent against the previous month but increasing MNT 36.9 billion or 50.1 per cent against 2011. The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 295.1 billion, decreasing MNT 3.4 billion or 1.1 per cent against the previous month and by MNT 34.9 billion or 10.6 per cent against 2011.
