HH the Emir's Special Adviser Cup and Trophy to Kick Off Wednesday

Doha, January 15 (QNA) - Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (REC) to host HH the Special Adviser to the Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani Cup and Trophy Days on January 16 and 17. On Wednesday, REC's New Rayyan track will be abuzz with horses battling for HH the Emir's Special Adviser Cup (Group 3 Pure Arabians). As many as 14 top quality horses will be at the starting gates in the feature event of the day. It will be the eighth and final race of the day. The prize money for this race is QR 150,000 and will be run over a distance of 1,850 metres. The following day, Thursday, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani Trophy (Group 1, Local Bred Pure Arabians) will be the highlight. QR 500,000 prize money will be on offer for this race over 1,600 metres. 15 horses will be contesting for the top prize here. A total of QR 1.465 million prize money will be on offer inclusive of both days. On the first day it will be QR 560,000 followed by QR 905,000. On Thursday there is also the added attraction of Khor Al Adaid Cup (Group 3). It will be competed over 2,100 metres and there is a purse of QR 125,000. 15 horses are in the fray.
