CHESS COMPETITION RUNS FOR 21ST ANNIVERSARY OF NEW CONSTITUTION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On occasion of the 21st anniversary of the new Constitution of Mongolia, the City championship for chess took place last weekend in the State House under auspices of the Speaker. It ran in Swiss system and attracted 132 amateur players, including Ts.Oyunbaatar, S.Demberel MPs, G.Zandanshatar, a former MP and head of the Mongolian Chess Federation (MChF), and also five members of the former People's Khural. A member of the MChF G.Saran-Erdene won a gold medal with eight points. He received a cash prize of one million togrog. Runner-up and bronze medalist took cash prizes of MNT 800 thousand and 100 thousand, respectively. A chess player from the "Khokhmori" club J.Davaasuren has been selected as the best female player, and B.Duurenbayar--as the best male player.
