MARA WILL SPONSOR 200 STUDENTS TO ROMANIA
TEMERLOH, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) will sponsor 200 students to Romania to take up medicine, petroleum and gas studies starting next year, said Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Minister Noh Omar.
This followed the signing of memorandum of agreements (MOA) between MARA or
Council of Trust for the Bumiputera (sons of the soil) and two prestigious
universities in Romania - Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy,
Bucharest and Petroleum-Gas University, Ploiesti recently.
The agreements were signed during Noh's visit to Romania from Oct
21-25.
"The 200 MARA students will do medicine at Carol Davila University and
petroleum and gas at Ploiesti University ," he told reporters at an Aidilfitri
(festival to mark the end of fasting month, Ramadan)open house of the Temerloh
parliamentary constituency here Monday.
Noh said the government was hopeful that Malaysia and Romania could
undertake more cooperation in education and other areas in future.
