President chairs meeting for discussing local governance strategy

SANA'A, Oct. 27 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh chaired on
Monday an expanded consultative meeting of the cabinet, leaderships
of local authority, governors and secretaries of local councils.

The meeting, which was attended by Vice President Abdu Rabu Mansour
Hadi, a number of developments on national issues and issues
associated with local authority topped by the National Strategy for
Local Governance were discussed.

In the meeting, President Saleh delivered a speech in which he
expressed pleasure for attending this expanded meeting assigned for
discussing mechanism of implementing the strategy for its importance
in enhancing decentralization and shifting to local governance.

He reviewed effects of rains and floods catastrophe befell
country's eastern areas during the past few days.
