CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY RUNNING TRAINING WITH COSCAP

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ An international training on flight information kicked off Monday in the "Jargalant" complex in Ulaanbaatar. The first ever here action has been co-organized by the Flight Information Service of Mongolia's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Programme (COSCAP). The training has involved 15 experts from Mongolia, North Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. They will obtain essential knowledge on flight information service. The flight information service of Mongolia is introducing the latest progressive technologies and has been successfully realizing the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) goal and a conception on transmitting the flight information service into flight information management. As result, Mongolia's civil aviation sector has got biggest achievements in Asia-Pacific region in flight information sector. In 2010, the CAA showed a successful result in an expanded audit conducted by the ICAO, attracting attention of experts of international civil aviation, therefore the ICAO and COSCAP have proposed the CAA to employ Mongolian experts in their regional centers and to take examiners from Mongolia for the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP). Sponsored by the AIRBUS, one of the biggest aircraft manufacturers, the training will continue until January 11. The COSCAP is an international programme conducted by the ICAO for improvement of air safety in designated areas of the world. The programme consists in regional COSCAP projects, grouping a number of States of the same area for promoting common solutions, regional cooperation, and developing a local core of know-how. The COSCAP projects are currently ongoing in the regions of South East Asia, South Asia, North Asia, West Africa, Southern Africa, Central and Southern America; the former CIS; and the Gulf States.
