Donors affirm quick help to Yemen over flood

SANA'A, Oct. 27 (Saba)- Ambassadors and representatives of donors
working in Yemen asserted their countries' readiness to provide
quick assistances to flood- affected people in Yemeni eastern areas.

The meeting, gathered ambassadors, donors' representatives and
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi, devoted for discussing means of fundraising for helping
quick relief efforts to flood-affected people and supporting
government's reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.

Al-Arhabi who reviewed government's relief efforts and expressed
Yemen's appreciation to some countries for their assistances,
indicated importance of coordination between the World Bank, the
United Nation, emergency committee, local authority and non
government local and international organizations for speeding up the
process of counting and evaluating damages during the forthcoming 48
hours.

Another meeting for donors for knowing results of field surveys
on damages and size of support and assistances needed for this
purpose would be held early next week.
