Qatar Participates in 74th GCC Health Ministers' Conference

Doha, January 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar takes part in the 74th Conference of the Council of Ministers of Health of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), due to be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in January 9-10. HE Abdullah bin Khalid Al-Qahtani, Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health, heads Qatar's delegation to the two day event. Ministers will explore the need to improve medical practices, combat the spread of non-contagious diseases, healthcare and patient safety standards, better medical facilities and awareness programmes and establishing specialized centers. They will also focus on alternative medicine, combating malaria, better protection for expatriate workers, combating smoking, and misuse of steroids and enhancers at gyms and health clubs. Unified GCC purchases of medicines and equipment and medical funding will also come under the spotlight. (QNA)
