Doha to Host 16th Arab Towns Organization's General Conference

Doha, January 05 (QNA) - Doha will play a host to the 16th General Conference of the Arab Towns Organization (ATO) from May 14 to 16 since it would be impossible to hold it as planned in the Syrian City of Aleppo due to the current circumstances there.      Doha hosted today a joint meeting to discuss the arrangements for holding the conference. The joint meeting was attended by Director of Doha Municipality Mohamed Ahmed Al Sayid, Director of Public Relations and Communications of the Ministry of Municipality and Urban Planning Omar Al Yafei, Director of ATO Award Yacob Yusouf Al Mass, ATO Technical Office Director Abdul Rahman Al Duaij, and ATO Director of Financial Affairs Khaled Al Badawi.      The meeting reviewed a draft program for the conference and the requirements for organizing the event that includes meetings of the ATO permanent bureau and its board of trustees, It discussed as well the events that will take place on the sidelines of the conference such as the awards ceremony, workshops and exhibition among others. Established in 1967 with headquarters in Kuwait City, the ATO is a regional, non-governmental and non-political organization specialized in municipal and town affairs in the Arab world. (QNA)
