OBSERVER: STUDENTS LACKING IN MOTIVATION TO WRITE
Medan, Oct 27 (ANTARA) - The motivation of college students to write is still very low, an education observer said here Monday.
"The students' willing to write is very low because of the lack of motivation, and because they are not required to write something, but merely focusing on studying," Zulnaidi of North Sumatra University said.
"However, I believe they have what it takes to write. The problem is they are not used to writing. If they practice more, they can do it," he added.
"No wonder we easily find people offering their service to write a thesis," Zulnadi said.
There is no one to blame in this case, he added.
"Both lecturers and students must make a introspection. The students must become used to writig while the lecturers have to play actively to motivate them," he said.
