QE, Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies Sign MoU for Training Cooperation

Doha, December 30 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange (QE) and Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies at Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU) signed on Sunday a memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the two sides in the fields of education, training and counseling in investment tools traded on the stock exchange and global financial markets. The MoU signed by CEO of Qatar Exchange Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Mansouri and Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies Dr. Hatem El Karanshawy aims to promote the culture of investing in securities where the two sides committed under the agreement to work together in a positive and constructive manner. According to the agreement, a number of programs, courses and introductory seminars for local investors should be prepared and implemented in order to promote a culture of investment in securities and introduce them to the most important products offered for trading in the market and the aspects of financial and technical analysis of listed companies in order to achieve the goal of attracting the investors to invest in the Qatari stock market and contribute to push forward the economic growth in the country. Meanwhile, Qatar Exchange CEO Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Mansouri stressed the importance of the new agreement as a basis for close cooperation with Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies aims to promote investment awareness among public investors in Qatar and raise the level of efficiency among dealers in the stock market for their interest as well as to enhance the market liquidity and the country's growth. For his part, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies Dr. Hatem El Karanshawy said that the agreement comes within the framework of the role played by the faculty in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 to serve the goals of the development and economic progress. He also added the agreement comes as a confirmation on the role played by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development to serve the Qatari and global community, which is also confirmed by the initiatives of Her Highness Chair of the Board of Directors Sheikha Moza bint Nasser.
