POLICE REVEALS SUSPECT IN EAST JAKARTA MUTILATION CASE

Jakarta, Oct 27 (ANTARA) - Jakarta Police investigators have succeeded in revealing a suspect in a mutilation case where body parts were found in two plastic bags on a public bus in East Jakarta recently, Jakarta Police Spokesman Insp. Gen. Abubakar Nataprawira said.

"The suspect is the wife of the victim himself. Up to now, we found still only one suspect," the Police Spokesman said here on Monday.

He said that police were still investigating the suspect so that they could not yet provide complete information to the press. Nataprawira promised he would talk to the press once the police already gathered complete information.

"The Jakarta Police will later explain it," he added.

On September 29, 2008, a bus conductor of Mayasari Bakti P64 public bus, police number B7357 BK, discovered human body parts in two plastic bags kept under a seat of the bus.

The bus conductor found the two plastic bags containing the mutilated body when the bus was passing in Jalan Raya Bekasi KM 18, Jatinegara village of Cakung, East Jakarta.

The victim was believed to have been killed 12 hours before he was put under a seat of the bus.

A resident, named Hasan Basri, happened to be thought he was the victim but it turned out later that Basri was till alive.
