OMAINTEC Conference Opened

Riyadh, October 26, SPA -- Under the patronage of Crown Prince Sultan
bin Abdul-Aziz, the Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation
and Inspector General, General Salih Al-Mohayya, Chief of the Joint
Staff opened here today the seventh International Operation and
Maintenance Conference & Exhibition in the Arab Countries (OMAINTEC)
which will last for four day.


The Conference will focus on exchanging expertise between engineers
from the region and international experts aiming to develop their
performance and transfer the latest technolo­gies to their countries.


It will also explore international standards and benchmark
methodologies and strategies of maintenance and allow key managers
responsible for operating and maintaining industrial plant and
building facilities, to discover ways of improving the effectiveness
of their maintenance and asset management procedures.


The Conference, which is organized under the slogan "World Class
Maintenance", will also present real case studies in the field of
Operation and Maintenance, discussing effective ways to overcome
problems, and proposing co-operative mechanisms among partici­pants.

The Conference is organized by Arabic Institute for operation and
maintenance and other governmental and non-governmental bodies
including the Saudi General Administration for Military Works.


In his address to the conference, General Salih Al-Mohayya said "I
am honored to patronize the opening of the conference on behalf of
Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Deputy Premier and Minister
of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who delegated me to
open this conference, pointing to the attention of the Ministry of
Defense and Aviation in this area as a reflection and implementation
of development plans in the Kingdom." In this context, he cited the
Saudi cabinet resolution issued last week for the establishment of
the National Commission on Asbestos and avoidance of
asbestos-injuries and said it was in response to the recommendations
established by the General Administration of the Military works.
