KALLA: IT`S TOO PREMATURE FOR GOLKAR TO ANNOUNCE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
Bandung, Indonesia, Oct 26 (ANTARA) - Golkar general chairman Jusuf Kalla said on Sunday it was too premature for his party to announce the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2009 General Elections.
"When we talk about the presidential candidate, we don't want to propose the name in a hurry. We are still giving our attention to the legislative elections," Kalla said in Bandung in a social gathering with the party's cadres.
Many cadres representing Golkar can be nominated in the legislative election and therefore we don't want to make mistakes or make the people confused," he opined.
Meanwhile, chairman of the Golkar West Java provincial chapter Uu Rukmana previously urged the party to propose presidential
candidates for 2009 presidential election.
"In the presidential election, Golkar should be positioned for the vice presidential post," Rukmana said.
In his speech before Golkar's cadres, Kalla asked them to work better and said that Golkar has a great infrastructures and human resources.
