CIS ELECTRIC POWER COUNCIL LAUNCHED IN MINSK
Baku, 25 0ctober ,(AzerTAj) Azerbaijani delegation led by Vice President of “Azerenergy” Marlen Asgarov attends the 34th meeting of CIS Electric Power Council (EPC) in Minsk, Belarus.
The council will discuss preparation of energy bodies of the CIS countries to work
in autumn-winter period, draft document on formation of common electricity market,
draft feasibility study on synchronous system interconnection of the CIS and Baltic
states with energy bodies of UCTE (Union for the co-ordination of transmission of
electricity) and cooperation with EURELECTRIC.
CIS Electric Power Council was created in 1992, on February 14 to solve energy
supply problems. EPC is composed of the chief executive officers of electricity
industry management bodies from CIS member states.
