AZERBAIJAN HAS A VERY POWERFUL, MODERNIZED AND WELL-ORGANIZED ARMY, PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV
Baku, 25 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The level of professional qualification of our army has considerably risen, President Ilham Aliyev said during his inaugural speech, on October 24. The process of army building will continue even more intensively.
“Much has been done to strengthen material and technical basis of our army. In 2003,
Azerbaijan’s military spending was $163 million, in 2008, it has reached $1,850
billion. And it will increase in the years to come. The amount envisaged in the 2009
state budget will be even greater”, President said.
“In this way, by creating a huge military potential, we are approaching the
settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. All these factors
are playing their role, and the opposite side should realize that Azerbaijan is a
powerful nation”, Ilham Aliyev added.
