M'SIAN IMMIRATION NABS 84 ILLEGAL INDONESIAN WORKERS

Kuala Lumpur, Oct 25 (ANTARA) - Malaysian immigration officers arrested 84 Indonesian workers who had no official work and stay permits in Malaysia recently.
"We conducted the operation from Thusrday (October 23) night until Friday (October 24) morning with aout 36 officers. During the operation, we arrested 84 Indonesian workers," the director of law and order affairs at the Malaysian Immigration Service, Ishak Mohamad, said on Saturday.
The 84 workers who were rounded up from five apartment blocks in Puchong, Selangor, were currently held at a Malaysian immigration detention center in Putrajaya.
Of the 84 detainees, 40 are women.
"Based on information we got from them, their arrival and housing in Malaysia had been arranged by a man named Haji Saiful. Unfortunately, we have not been able to arrest him. Moreover, they don't want to talk much about this Haji Saiful," Mohamad said.
In their passports, there were fake stamps of the Setulang Laut and Tanjung Pengelih immigration offices, Mohammad said, adding "we suspect, the fake immigration stamps were the work of Haji Saiful."
