M'SIA AGAIN DEPORTS 123 INDONESIAN MIGRANT WORKERS
Tanjungpinang, Oct 25 (ANTARA) - Malaysia has again deported 123 Indonesian migrant workers for lacking the required immigration documents.
The workers consisting of 80 men and 43 women arrived here on Saturday from Pasir Gudang port in Johor, a local immigration service official, Ispaisah, said here on Saturday.
She said they mostly did not have official documents for working in that country so that they had been arrested by Malaysian authorities.
"We have even served a month in jail in Malaysia," one of the workers, Irwan, said.
Ispaisah said the workers would for the time being be accommodated at the migrant worker taskforce's shelter before "they will all be sent to their home villages."
According to the Tanjungpinang immigration service, the number of problematic Indonesian migrant workers deported by Malaysia in October reached 1,856 consisting of 1,187 men and 653 women and 16 children.
