VP TO CLOSE ASIAN BEACH GAMES SUNDAY
Sanur, Bali Oct 25 (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President is scheduled to officially close the first Asian Beach Games (ABG) 2008 on Sunday (Oct 26) in Garuda Windu Kencana, Nusa Dua, Bali.
The closing ceremony will start at about 8 pm local time or 7 pm Jakarta time and show the collaboration attraction of traditional dances from five main islands in Indonesia as well as Balinese cultural attraction which involves about 150 dancers.
Besides showing the traditional art of the host, the closing ceremony will also show the attraction from the ABG 2010 hosts, Oman.
In the ceremony, Vice President Jusuf Kalla will be accompanied by Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, who is also the Chairman of ABG organizing committee, State Minister of Youth and Sports Adhyaksa Dault, National Sports Council (KONI) chief Rita Subowo and the President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah.
The closing of the 2008 ABG will be marked by the handover of the Olympic torch from Indonesia to Oman.
ABG 2008 was participated in by 3,000 athletes and officials from about 45 Asian countries.
