AZERBAIJAN`S LEGISLATION GOOD EXAMPLE TO CIS COUNTRIES, MIKHAIL KROTOV

Baku, 25 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s legislation and experience in improving
legal documents are a good example to CIS countries, Secretary General of the PA CIS
Council Mikhail Krotov told AzerTAc.
Krotov noted laws adopted recently by the Azerbaijan Parliament had increased its
prestige in the CIS PA.
According to M. Krotov special emphasis will be put on Azerbaijan`s best election
practices during a seminar the Assembly plans to conduct for international election
observers.
He stressed CIS PA`s meeting to be held on November in Saint-Petersburg would make
assessment of promoting democracy in the CIS countries, presidential elections in
Azerbaijan and parliamentary elections in Belarus.
Krotov said a Declaration of Development Principles of Democracy was expected to be
adopted during the meeting
He underlined the meeting would also focus on food security issues, adding current
food security situation necessitated the creation of national legislative basis
which aims to promote import and export of food products.
According to the Secretary General, the problem of food security was successfully
solved in Azerbaijan since the Azerbaijan gives preference to using local products.
He added increase in food import and export operations among CIS countries would be
beneficial.
