CREATE MORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DISABLED, SAYS CHIEF MINISTER
TAWAU (Malaysia), Oct 25 (Bernama) -- Employers in the private sector were
today urged to create more employment opportunities for the disabled to enable
the latter to also contribute to the country's economic development.
East Malaysia state of Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman said the public
should not have a negative perception of the disabled but to help provide
opportunities for them to be independent and improve their
livelihood.
"As part of the society, they (the disabled) should be given equal
opportunities to progress and contribute to the country's development and
prosperity," he said at the opening of a programme for the disabled here
Saturday.
The speech was read by Assistant Finance Minister Tawfiq Abu Bakar
Titingan.
Musa said employers should also offer attractive salary and incentives for
local workers, including the disabled.
