BRITISH COUNCIL ANNOUNCE JOHN SMITH PROGRAM

Baku, 25 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The British Council has announced the open competition
for the John Smith Fellowship Program 2009 in Azerbaijan.
The Fellowship aims to strengthen and deepen awareness of good governance through a
five-week program in the UK and placements in the influential organizations.
The Azerbaijan nationals working in politics, local administration, the media or
civil society, with a track record of concern for good governance and promoting
democratic values are eligible to apply.
Fellows are expected to produce a personal plan of action to be carried out when
they return home. 9-12 months later a Follow-Up Conference will bring all Fellows
together to report on their activities and compare progress.
The deadline for applications is November 5.
