WORLD SILENT DAY WILL NOT AFFECT WORKING HOURS
Denpasar, Oct 24 (ANTARA) - World silent day which would be held annually starting in March 21, 2009, will not affect working hours.
"From the ecological and social perspectives, by giving the world and our body 24 hours of rest is a recovery process for our future," I Made Suarnatha of the Bali collaboration agency for climate change said here Friday.
Meanwhile a climate change disaster can only be controlled by giving the world some room to recover its damage.
"Consumption saving including energy is also part of the economic aspect," said Suarnatha
He said PT PLN in Bali can reduce up to Rp3 million in cost.
"World Silent Day" (WSD) is inspired by traditional Balinese wisdom which is the "Nyepi" holiday. On that day people as part of nature stopped their daily activities.
