THOUSANDS OF TOURISTS ADMIRE MALAHAYU DAM IN BREBES
Semarang, Oct 24 (ANTARA) - As many as 1,500 tourists in the 2008 Lebaran holidays visited the Malahyu dam, Brebes, Central Java, admiring the surrounding view.
"Malahayu dam was built in 1930 covering 944 hectares, located 35 Km from Brebes Regency," Drs. Wardjito Sulistyo, a tourism observer, said here Friday.
He said apart from an irrigation and flood control facility, the dam is also a tourist attraction.
The tourist object has a beautiful mountain view and surrounded by thick teak trees.
Beside Malahayu dam, people can also visit Penjalin dam in Brebes ahich was also visited by holiday goers during the Learan
