BAKU HOSTS INTERNATIONAL BANKING CONFERENCE OF CIS COUNTRIES

Baku, 24 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The International Banking Conference of CIS countries
entitled “Financial Markets of CIS countries: development and integration” today has
started in Baku.
The event, which is supported by International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) and CIS
Executive Committee brought together over 200 representatives from financial and
governmental structures.
The conference participants discuss the current state, problems and prospects of CIS
leading banks.
Addressing the participants, Chairman of IBA`s Board of Directors Elman Rustamov
told of rapid development of Azerbaijan`s economy due to the right policy carried
out in the country.
Chairman of CIS Executive Committee Sergey Lebedev told of significance of the
conference and the necessity of supporting the CIS banking system.
Heads of the leading banks of Azerbaijan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus and
other countries delivered reports on development of the banking sector, investments
and crediting.
Conference will end on October 26.
