GENERAL CONSUL IN LA VISITS DENVER

Baku, 24 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)General Consul Elin Suleymanov and Vice-Consul Elshan
Baloglanov of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles, CA have visited Denver, the capital of the
state of Colorado, where discussed prospect of economic cooperation and
possibilities of educational exchange with Mayor John Hickenlooper, state Governor’s
economic advisers, leadership of the University of Denver and local businessmen.
Speaking to the students of the University and representatives of the Denver Council
on Foreign Relations, Elin Suleymanov focused on the foreign policy of Azerbaijan.
The country’s traditions of tolerance and openness, its contribution to the European
energy security and well-balanced foreign policy provoked the audience’s particular
interest.
Interestingly, the School of International Studies at the University of Denver bears
the name of Josef Korbel, a father of the ex-US Secretary of State Madeleine
Albright, while the incumbent Condoleezza Rice is one of its best known alumni.
During meetings with local media, the Azerbaijani diplomats described the current
situation in the region.
