Vice State President invites Cuban businesses to Vietnam

Havana (VNA) - Vietnam always welcomes and creates favourable
conditions for investment by Cuban businesses, including preferential
policies for Vietnamese businesses running business with Cuban, said Vice
President Nguyen Thi Doan.

The Vice President told a Vietnam-Cuba Business Forum in Havana on Oct.
22 that her visit to Cuba aims at further promoting the two countries'
friendship and comprehensive cooperation in the interest of both nations.

She noted that Vietnam-Cuba economic and trade exchange has markedly
increase in the recent past, with two-way trade value increasing from 45.6
million USD in 2001 to 270 million USD in 2007.

The business forum is a good chance for businesses of both sides to
strengthen cooperation and investment relations, contributing to boosting
the two countries' traditional friendship.

Speaking at the forum, Ricardo Cabrisas, Vice Chairman of the Cuban
Council of Ministers, stressed that the forum was held at a time when the
Vietnam-Cuba intergovernmental committee just concluded its meeting, and
businesses should seized opportunities offered by economic and commercial
cooperation programmes agreed by the two countries' leaders.

The Vice Chairman affirmed that Cuba is ready to create favourable
conditions for businesses of both countries to promote cooperation,
contributing to preserving and developing the loyal friendship between the
two peoples.

At the forum, the Vietnamese Housing and Urban Development Corporation
(HUD) signed a contract worth 200 million USD with Cuban Palmares Group for
construction of a golf course and resort in Havana.
