BRITAIN`S PRINCE OF WALES TO VISIT RI EARLY NOVEMBER

Jakarta, Oct 23 (ANTARA) - Britain's Prince of Wales is to visit Indonesia in early November to hold dicussions on interfaith and environmental issues, according to British Ambassador to Indonesia Martin Hatfull.

"We talked about the Prince of Wales's visit to Indonesia between the first and the fifth of November," Hatfull said after a meeting with Muhammadiyah Chairman Din Syamsuddin at the Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC) here Thursday.
He said the prince would come to Indonesia to talk about interfaith and environmental issues and Syamsuddin was asked to be the prince's host.
Meanwhile, Syamsuddin said the discussion on interfaith issues would be attended by a number of Indonesian ulema as well as representatives of other religions.
The discussion on enviromental issues would be held in cooperation with several environmental and forest conservation organizations in Indonesia, he said.
"This is the British ambassador's second visit (to the CDCC). A few years ago, the envoy also came to us to discuss the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the British government and Muhammadiyah," Syamsuddin said.
The discussions with the British prince on interfaith issues would be about ways to encourage interfaith dialogues between states, the Muhammadiyah leader said.
Syamsuddin said mankind should not be trapped in two extremes, namely radicalism and liberalism, because they would only split mankind.
