THOUSANDS RALLY AT PARLIAMENT TO SUPPORT PORNOGRAPHY BILL

Jakarta, Oct. 23 (ANTARA) - Thousands of people coordinated by various Muslim organizations staged a rally in front of the Parliament (DPR) building here on Thursday to support the Bill on Pornography.

"All Muslim mass organizations and their members are ready to guard (the Bill) to prevent pornography and pornographic acts," secretary general of the Muslim Community Forum (FUI) M Al Khaththath said at the rally.
Apart from FUI, the rally was also attended by members of the Alliance of Youth and Community to Save the Nation (APMSB) consisting of several organizations such as the United Development Party (PPP), KAMMI, the Front of Islam Defenders, KAHMI, PII, and HMI (Muslim University Students Association).
Some of them brought banners and posters with texts which read "Pornography and porno action Create Catastrophe", "Lets Destroy Pornography and Porno Action, We Want to Support DPR (The House of Representatives) that the people is behind the Bill on Pornography," Al Khaththath said.
"We only demand one thing, namely please approve the Bill on Pornography," Ivan Ahda, coordinator of the rally, said.
Ivan Ahda said that several parties were not serious in discussing the Bill.
"We see that PDIP and PDS are not serious in discussing the Bill on Pornography. Members of the political parties were seen walking out of and into the meeting room during the deliberation," Ahda said.
He called on all Muslim elements to support the Bill
