Netherlands voices readiness to improve Zabid city in WHL

SANA'A, Oct. 22 (Saba) - Dutch ambassador to Sana'a RH Buikeman
expressed Wednesday his country's readiness to provide all support
to improve the situation of Zabid city on the World Heritage List
(WHL).

During his meeting with Culture Minister Muhammad al-Maflahi, the
Dutch diplomat affirmed that he would work on establishing an
association for students studying in Netherlands.

The minister presented detailed explanation on the culture situation
in Yemen, particularly the castles, historical palaces spread
throughout the country, which need to an urgent restoration.

Both sides agreed on holding a meeting late next November to
strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries.

The talks asserted the importance of providing Dutch support for the
culture projects in Yemen, particularly support the historical
cities, highlighting the necessity to update the musical tools and
qualify Yemeni artist cadres to meet with the daily development in
the global music.

The meeting discussed the current arrangements for holding a
ceremony on the occasion of the 30th anniversary for launching the
development cooperation between the two countries.
