Iran, Algeria call for expansion of parliamentary cooperation

Visiting Iranian Vice President and Head of Iran's Martyrs and War
Disabled Foundation Hossein Dehqan conferred on Tuesday with Algerian
Senate Speaker and First Vice President Abdulqader bin Saleh on
expansion of parliamentary ties between the two countries.

At the meeting, the Iranian envoy conveyed warm greetings of President
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other Iranian officials to Algerian President
Abdelaziz Bouteflika to the first vice president in the absence of the
Algerian president who is abroad.

The Iranian envoy called for expanding and consolidating ties between
the two countries in various fields including services to disabled war
veterans.

At the meeting, the two sides underlined the need for expansion of
parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

They also called for exchange of visits by officials of the two sides
to help improve bilateral relations.

Iran's VP arrived in Algiers on Friday at the head of a delegation for
a three-day visit at the invitation of Algerian Mojahedin Minister
Muhammad Sharif Abbas.
