GCC Municipality ministers hold meeting in Doha
Doha, October 21, SPA -- Ministers in charge of Municipality Affairs
in the GCC member countries held a meeting in Doha today under the
chairmanship of Qatar's Minister of Municipality and Constructional
Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Prince Dr. Mansour bin Mit'eb bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Minister of
Municipal and Rural Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his
country's delegation to the meeting.
In a press statement following the meeting, Prince Mansour bin Mit'eb
bin Abdulaziz extended thanks to Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani,
Emir of Qatar, government ministers and Qatari people for their warm
welcome and generous hospitality.
He said a number of decisions and recommendations were issued on
constructional planning and environment and public utilities health.
He underestimated the impact of the second economic boom and the
constructional expansion witnessed by the Kingdom and the rest GCC
member states, saying that the boom's challenges are solved only
through strategic planning.
He said proposals submitted by the Kingdom and Sultanate of Oman on
natural disasters were approved by the meeting.
On the joint strategy to promote the municipal work in the Kingdom
and GCC countries, he said the Kingdom has put its strategy in
collaboration with local and foreign consultative houses for this
end. The strategy is being gradually studied, he concluded.
