Hilal seeks French support for implementing local governance

SANA'A, Oct. 21 (Saba)- Minister of Local Administration
Abdul-Qader Hilal discussed with representative of French
Development Agency support of enhancing decentralization system and
carrying out National Strategy of Local Governance.

The meeting held on Tuesday dealt with contents of the strategy
concerning qualifying local cadres and setting a center for training
and qualification.

Minister Hilal valued assistances of French government for
supporting Yemen's efforts in making financial and administrative
decentralization success, indicating his ministry keenness on making
use of experiences of brotherly and friendly countries in field of
local governance taking into consideration the French pioneer
experience in this field.

Another meeting headed by deputy minister of local administration
and included the French official and ministry's deputies has been
focused for discussing means of enhancing cooperation between the
ministry and the agency and the support it could provide for
carrying out the local governance national strategy during 2020 for
realizing inclusive and sustainable development.
