WIEF IDEAL PLATFORM FOR MUSLIM COUNTRIES TO NETWORK

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) -- With the current economic crisis, the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) is the ideal platform for Muslim countries to network and create business partnerships.

In a statement here Tuesday, WIEF chairman, Musa Hitam, said the fifth
WIEF, which will be held in Jakarta, from March 1-4, 2009, was expected to
attract more investors.

"With the theme 'Food, Energy and Finance Security: Stemming the Tide of
Global Crisis', the fifth WIEF is expected to attract the participation of
country and international business leaders and chief executive officers," he
said.

Musa said Jakarta was chosen to host the event because it was
currently
undergoing a transition towards becoming a more modern and efficient economy and
was poised to be an attractive investment destination.

Among the issues that will be discussed are:
Innovative solutions to global challenges;
Beyond scarcity: Overcoming global food crisis:
Paving a greener world: Creating a future for alternative energy;
