AT LEAST 253 PROSPECTIVE LEGISLATORS ALLEGED PROBLEMATIC
Jakarta, Oct 21 (ANTARA) - At least 253 prospective legislators were allegedly to become problematic, as they failed to comply with the requirements.
Endang Sulasttri, member of the General Election Commission (KPU) said here on Tuesday that 13 legislative candidates had fake diplomas, in corruption cases 45 and 13 on the basis of the inputs received from the public.
In addition, legislative nominees alleged to have made no decision to resign on account of their status as civil servants, the number of who are 9 persons, while those involved in immoral action is 8 persons, dismissed 2 persons and nominated in two parties is 22 persons.
For prospective legislators nominated by two parties, KPU found 52 persons after making an inventory of available electronic data.
Endang said KPU had made a clarification to political parties following double nomination.
In the meantime, nominees alleged to have made no decision to resign following their status as civil servants mostly represented the Indonesia's Democratic Love Party, the Prosperous Indonesia Party, the Democratic Reforms Party, Golkar, the National Democratic Party and the Indonesian Democratic Party of Sruggle.
Nominees alleged to have used fake diploma for registration were from the People's Conscience Party, the Indonesian Movement Party, the National Front Party, the New Indonesian Struggles Party, the Marhaenism-related Indonesian Nationalists Party, the Democratic Reforms Party, Publican Party, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle, the Democrats Party, the National Development Party and the National Independence Bull Party.
I Gusti Putu Artha, a KPU member, said his office had checked fake diplomat at the school in charge of issuing the diplomat.
The nominees were proven to have used fake diplomats, KPU will erase their name.
61 resign
Furthermore, Endang said at least 61 legislative nominees had resigned. They were reported to have made some copies of their resignation to KPU.
According to Endang, KPU will clarify the resignation of legislative nominees to their parties. If the clarification was already on existant, KPU will delete their names from the list.
