SOME 27 EXPORTERS RECEIVE GOVT`S PRIMANIYARTA AWARD

Jakarta, Oct 21 (ANTARA) - A total of 27 exporters received the Primaniyarta award from the government at the opening ceremony of Trade Expo Indonesia 2008 here on Tuesday.

The award was presented for five categories, namely high performance exporters, global brand development exporters, small- and medium-scale (UKM) exporters, small-scale exporters, and creative economic exporters.

Since 1992 the government had been presenting the award to selected companies but it was stopped during the monetary crisis in 1998-2000, and continued again in 2001.

The award is intended to motivate exporters to be more active in increasing non-oil and non-gas exports.

At the Trade Expo Indonesia 2008 which was opened by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the government gave the Primaniyarta award to 27 exporters from various provinces.

Eligibility to the award was determined after an evulation of a company's net export value in the past year, continuous export activity for five years, positive trend, and positive change average.

In the high performance exporters category, the recipients of the award were PT Bitratex Industries in Jakarta, PT Citra Tubindo Tbk in Riau, PT Growth Asia in Medan, PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper Tbk in Jakarta, PT Karya Putra Kreasi Nusantara in Medan, PT Polychem Indonesia in Jakarta, PT Samsung Electronic Indonesia Tbk in Jakarta, PT Toyhota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia in Jakarta, PT Trimitra Baterai Perkasa in Jakarta, PT Ungaran Sari Garments in Jakarta.

In the global brand development category the recipients were PT Bumi Tangerang Mesindotama in Tangerang, PT Gajah Tunggal in Jakarta, PT Megasurya Mas in Sidoarjo, PT Deli Pulp and Paper Mills in Jakarta, PT Sinar Antjol in Jakarta, PT Universal Carpet and Rugs in Bogor.

The award in the UKM exporters categroy went to PT Celebes Minapratama in Bitung, UD Hasil Saw Mill in Cilacap, PT Karimun Kencana Aromatics in Medan, PT Prestasi Ide Jaya in Sidoarjo, PT Silva Inhutani in Lampung.

Ssmall-scale exporters who received the award were Armarta Furniture, Bantul, CV Indorama in Yogyakarta, PT Menara Persada Abadi in Surabaya, while in the the category of creative economic exporters, the awardees were PT Intisari Primula in Jakarta and PT Isla Vista Graha in Jakarta.
