BERNAMA JOURNALISTS BAG KAWAT-EXXONMOBIL JOURNALISM AWARDS

KUALA TERENGGANU (Malaysia), Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) journalists bagged the two main awards at the 2008 Kawat (Terengganu Journalists Club)-ExxonMobil Journalism Award here Monday night.

They are Noor Shamsiah Mohamad, named the winner in the economic news
category with her article "From Bank Clerk To Fighting Fish Towkay" and Tuan
Azam Tuan Johan, whose report, headlined "Jali Shoots Communist Chief in
Kemaman" was chosen the winner in the news writing category. Both received
RM1,500 and a certificate each.

Noor Shamsiah also won second prize of RM1,000 in the feature writing
category with her article entitled "Turtles End Up As Exotic Dishes?". The first
prize went to Kosmo journalist, Hisham Idris, and third to Rajmah Hassan, of
Utusan Malaysia.

In the sports writing category, Utusan Malaysia's Adnan Mohamad was named
the winner.

Other winners are Majidah Ismail and Khalid Abdullah for Best Audio Visual
and Farah Fauzi (Popular DJ). They are from Radio Televisyen Malaysia.

Radio Televisyen Malaysia or RTM is a Malaysian government-owned public
broadcaster which owns and operates a number of radio and television stations in
Malaysia.

The winners received their prizes from Information Minister Ahmad
Shabery Cheek.

ExxonMobil, is an American oil and gas corporation.
