Prince Naïf sheds light on meeting of Iraq`s neighboring countries
Riyadh, Oct 21, SPA -- Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior
Minister, said the fifth meeting for the interior ministers of Iraq’s
neighboring countries will discuss issues pertaining to the country’s
security.
Prince Naif, who was speaking after patronizing the inaugural
ceremony of the first conference for the department of industrial
engineering at the Saudi engineers commission, here last night said
the purpose of the meeting and the previous meetings was ensuring the
security of Iraq and to help it to ensure its security.
Prince Naif regretted that some misled Saudis go to Iraq and carry
out shameful acts which defame Islam and their country.
He noted that cooperation exists with the Iraqi authorities to
extradite them, and added that 'we will cooperate with the Iraqi
authorities in this respect'.
Meanwhile, Prince Naif ruled out the possibility of signing a
security agreement with Iraq on the fringes of the fifth meeting of
the interior ministers of Iraq’s neighboring countries.
He noted that there is an old agreement with Iraq and it could be
developed.
Prince Naif urged the media to encourage the citizens to cooperate
with the security men and said the security man is a citizen before
becoming a security man.
We met with Arab ministers of information three years ago and agreed
on the importance of serving the Arab security by the Arab media, but
that was not realized.
Commenting on formation of a committee to review the problems of
blackmailing women, Prince Naif said on the rights of the women are
preserved and the aforesaid committee will work in line with the
Royal directives.
