Georgian Interior Ministry denies using special means in Khashuri region

Georgia, Tbilisi, Oct. 2 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
The Interior Ministry denies using of force or any special means at the polling stations in Khashuri region (Eastern Georgia), the interior ministry said today.
TV channels "Maestro" and "channel 9" reported that police and special forces examined a number of polling stations in the Khashuri constituency while the summary protocols were made.
According to the TV, there was a tense situation at the third constituency. It was reported that the final report was written again. The special forces used tear gas and rubber bullets.
According to the TV, special forces left the city only after the opposition members walked led by the monks.
"Several media outlets spread the message that the police units in the polls allegedly used force and opened fire," the Georgian interior ministry reported. "The interior ministry states that this information is wrong. The police ensured security at the constituencies where some problems occurred. The activists dispersed without resistance. It should be stressed that the weapons and special means were not used by the police."
Head of the CEC Zurab Kharatishvili told media that the election results in two constituencies may be terminated. The local observation organizations require this.
