‘Georgia Dream’ takes strong lead in Georgian parliamentary elections

After counting 18.4 percent of votes, the Central Election Commission of Georgia continues to publish initial results of parliamentary elections held on Oct.1 while possessing new data from polling stations.
According to initial information, opposition coalition "Bidzina Ivanishvili - Georgia Dream" continues to lead with 53.35 percent of votes.
The ruling party - "United National Movement-More Benefit for people" ranks second with 41.56 percent of votes.
The parties are followed by - "Giorgi Targamadze Christian-Democratic Movement" - 2.19 percent, "Shalva Natelashvili - Labour Party of Georgia" - 1.32 percent, "New Rights" - 0.48 percent.
In total, data from 693 (18.4 percent) out of 3,766 polling stations has been counted.
