INDEPENDENCE DAY OF AZERBAIJAN AND ILHAM ALIYEV`S VICTORY IN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Baku, 20 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijani Society in Dubai (UAE) has organized a
ceremony to mark 18 October- Independence Day of Azerbaijan and Ilham Aliyev`s
landslide victory in the presidential election.
Head of the Society Samir Imanov said Azerbaijan was in difficult situation during
early years of its independence.
He stressed national leader Heydar Aliyev`s forward-looking policy helped to prevent
coup d`etat in the country and ensure stability.
He stressed Heydar Aliyev had made significant efforts to carry out reforms to
establish democratic society in the country.
S. Imanov noted Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev has been successfully continuing
Heydar Aliyev`s policy. According to him, the country`s dynamic development,
successful oil strategy, global energy and transport projects has turned it into the
region`s leader.
Imanov pointed out the presidential election in Azerbaijan was conducted in a free,
fair and transparent manner.
He described Ilham Aliyev`s clear-cut victory in the election as a result of
reforms carried out in the country, work done to reduce unemployment, new jobs
created, successful oil strategy implemented and Azerbaijan`s increasing prestige in
the world.
A film featuring Heydar Aliyev`s life and his great work was demonstrated during the
event.
