MILLI MAJLIS VICE-SPEAKER MEETS SWEDEN DELEGATION

Baku, 20 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)First Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis
(Parliament) Ziyafat Asgarov met Monday with visiting Sweden delegation of NGOs and
parliamentarians.
Z.Asgarov briefed the delegation members on activities of the Azerbaijan Parliament,
social, political and economic reforms being carried out in the country.
He noted Azerbaijan was keen on expanding cooperation with Sweden even more.
Asgarov also stressed the role of parliaments in deepening bilateral relationship.
On the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, Z.Asgarov said the dispute
caused grave consequences for Azerbaijan.
He pointed out due to Armenia`s non-constructive position the conflict remains
unresolved, and that it is a serious threat for both the South Caucasus and Europe.

Head of the delegation, Secretary General of the Swedish non-governmental
organization “Society and Defense” Lars Ekeman said the delegation`s visit to Baku
aims at conducting talks to enhance bilateral relationship.
He stressed his country is interested in Azerbaijan which has a favorable
geographical position.
The meeting also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
