RI PARTICIPATING IN TRADE EXPO IN NANNING, CHINA
Nanning, China, Oct. 21 (ANTARA) - A number of Indonesian companies are to participate in the Fifth China-ASEAN Trade Exhibition (CAEXPO-5) to be held in Nanning, Guang Xi Province, China, from October 22 to 25, 2008.
The Expo would have 3,300 stands located in several pavilions categorized as trade commodities, investment cooperation,agricultural applied technology, and sympathetic cities. Bandung is to represent Indonesia in the sympathetic city category.
Indonesia is represented by a 118-member delegation and will occupy 65 stands at Hall-13. Among Indonesian commodities and products to be displayed will be handicrafts, furniture, spices, and swallow's nests.
A number of seminars and business meetings will be held during the Expo, among other things meetings on the China-ASEAN Business Forum, the Asian-European Investment Promotion, China-ASEAN Woman Forum, and the China-ASEAN Free Trade Forum.
A China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit will also be organized to discuss mainly on cooperation in the small-medium scale business and investment development. The Summit's theme will be "Broad Vision, Move Action".
China and six ASEAN member countries have signed import tariff reduction agreements for a total of 7,000 product categories. By 2010, the trade between China and ASEAN is expected to enjoy 'zero tariff' facility, and by 2015 the China ASEAN Free Trade Area could be realized.
