Turkmen oil and gas minister reprimanded

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Sept. 25 / Trend H. Hasanov / Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has reprimanded Acting Minister of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Kakageldi Abdyllayev for unsatisfactory fulfilling his duties and shortcomings in his work. The minister has informed about the situation in the structural units of the fuel and energy complex, as well as the fulfillment of the president's orders, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday. According to the information, President Berdimuhamedov has emphasized the importance of the oil and gas industry in the successful implementation of Turkmenistan's socio-economic development, stressing that the comprehensive modernization and technical upgrading, increasing resources and industrial potential of the fuel-energy complex are today one of the main tasks. "In this context, the president has criticized the relatively slow pace of implementing the the plans determined in this priority area and requested to rapidly improve the situation," a statement said. The ministry manages the field development, rational use of mineral resources and ensures the unified state policy in this area. The ministry has been instructed to conduct the analytical work and prepare long-term plans and programs to develop the oil and gas sector. The ministry coordinates the activity and determines the strategy of developing the oil and gas complex. Turkmenistan's total hydrocarbon resources hit 71.6 billion of oil equivalent, including 20.8 billion tons of oil and 50.8 trillion cubic meters of gas. Hundreds of prospective oil and gas structures were revealed in Turkmenistan. Around 160 deposits were discovered, 60 of which are under development. Do you have any feedback?
