Farmers' committee prepares for national congress

Hanoi (VNA) - The Central Committee of the fourth Vietnam Farmers'
Association (VFA) convened its 13 th session in Hanoi on Oct. 20,
focusing on preparations for the VFA's fifth congress.

During the two-day meeting, participants will discuss a political report and
review report of the fourth VFA Central Committee and the revised VFA
statute in addition to measures to enhance the VFA central committee's
leading capacity.

VFA Vice President Ha Phuc Mich reported that the VFA central committee
has over the past five years coordinated with the Bank for Social Policy to
provide loans to millions of farmer households to expand farming activities.

The VFA central committee and its chapters at all levels have mobilised
their members to contribute almost 2.8 trillion VND and 60 million work days
to building and repairing 462,000 km of road and 27,280 classrooms, health
clinics and communal and village cultural houses in rural areas.-Enditem
